Every year, 6 million hectares of land turn into desert. This is the area equivalent to the area of Kyushu Island and Shikoku Island in Japan. More than 610 million hectares of our planet, or 40% of the land area, is known as a dry land, and 20% of our planet’s inhabitants live in such area.
